An Irish Queer Web Ring???

So how about it? I mentioned this the other day at lunch with 2 other queer bloggers.  Am not too sure how to get it started but am sure we can figure it out.  By a webring of Irish queer blogs, I mean web blogs rather than the personal diary types. (Although maybe I am being too narrow here). I am interested in reading the philosophical, political, sociological and cultural writings of queer bloggers.  Of course our blogs are more than queer but are queer in their being (Oh was that queer theory peeking out – quick save me!)

It would be good to build up a community and I think blogging by Irish based or linked queers and a blog ring would create good conversation and interaction?

I like the sound of this - although your post title looks a little like the headline to a David Quinn article

;)

Yes but this ring would actually exist unlike his imaginatory one. :) And indeed could be his greatest nightmare, queers who think and disect!

Let's do it: alt-webring.com looks like it might be a place to set one up. Erm, do I qualify?

notice the use of the word 'link'...especially for you dear!

so do you want to start it up? or would that be yet another packing distraction!!!

Um, how about "Irish LGBT Blogs", or "Irish Queer Blogs"?

Queer is still not popular with some people.

And can we have a short policy that excludes sites that are just about porn...

Yeah to the policy excluding porn. And what about commerical blogs and spam blogs?

If we do lgbt does this exclude the i and q? Queer encompasses it all I think, or we could be rainbow bloggers (slight sarcasm there) Cue Monty Python Sketch...

Irish Queer Blogs, I think.

Not sure the I should really be included, but then again...

Um, even at alt-webring.com we need our own home page, to detail joining policy. Any ideas? Wasn't there once a site called queernet that used to host stuff like this?

Probably I can do it as a sub-blog of mine.

ah isn't that cute. If you are ok with hosting the policy etc on your place then this is fine with me. Would it have bandwith/traffic implications for you? (She says trying to sound like she knows what she's talking about!)
